Meeting with the representatives of the German Foundation «IRZ»

Meeting with the representatives of the German Foundation of International Legal Cooperation «IRZ» (18 July 2013)

Vladislav Tsaturov, the deputy director of the Federal Penal Service of Russia (FPS of Russia), Nikolay Kolesnik, the deputy director of the FPS of Russia, attended the meeting.

The representatives of the German part were Dirk Miro, the director of the German Foundation of International Legal Cooperation «IRZ» («IRZ»), Dina Matusova, the project manager of the department "Russian Federation" of the «IRZ».

The goal of the meeting was discussion of the future cooperation between the Federal Penal Service of Russia and the «IRZ».

The positive results of the cooperation between Russia and Germany on security systems, new information technologies were discussed during the meeting.

The «IRZ» was founded by the Federal Government of Germany for resolving problems of international judicial cooperation. FPS of Russia realizes the ideas developed by German experts. The contacts with Voronezh, Lipetsk and Ivanovo are very productive for both parts, because of the common problems of the penal systems of Russia and Germany. It’s necessary to continue sharing experiences for solving these problems. The «IRZ» plans to continue working with the FPS of Russia.

Russia emphasized efficient productivity of the German experience, results of bilateral cooperation. Russia is interested in German experience of social work, non-custodial punishments, personnel training.

The parts reached an agreement on cooperation between the German Foundation «IRZ» and Department of prisons and pre-trial prisons of FPS, Department of alternative and non-custodial punishments of FPS, as well as with other regions of Russia.

At the end of the meeting parts thanked each other for a constructive dialogue and expressed the wish to continue cooperation.
