Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia informs:

By the date of 04.08.2020, 187,294 laboratory tests were conducted to detect a new coronavirus infection, including 116,844 studies in the laboratories of the Penal Enforcement System.

By now, since the introduction of restrictive measures, 3,526 laboratory-confirmed cases of new coronavirus infection have been registered among the Penal Enforcement System employees. From these number, 2,457 people recovered.

Among the suspects, accused and convicted since the beginning of April 2020, 1,224 laboratory-confirmed cases have been identified, of which 933 people have recovered.

At the present moment the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia continues to carry out a complex of sanitary and anti-epidemic (preventive) measures aimed at preventing the emergence and spread of new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) among persons detained in the institutions of the Penal Enforcement System, and employees of the Penal Enforcement System.

For the purpose of timely detection and isolation of patients with symptoms of new coronavirus infection, flue, acute respiratory viral infections, medical workers conduct daily rounds of institutions with examination and thermometry. Patients with clinical symptoms are immediately isolated in medical isolation units of medical points.

Employees and visitors are required to observe the mask regime and pass thermometry when entering the institutions of the Penal Enforcement System. Short-term visits with relatives and other persons are conducted through glass in compliance with the requirements of individual protection.

All facilities of the Penal Enforcement System there are daily disinfection measures with the use of modern disinfectants and bactericidal irradiators (recirculators). In addition, in accordance to the decree of the chief state sanitary doctor of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, a sanitary day is held once a week in all institutions of the Penal Enforcement System.

Employees receive parcels and packages using personal protective equipment. Quarters of institutions for receiving transmissions are equipped with bactericidal irradiators (recirculators) approved for use in the presence of people. In addition, employees carry out disinfection treatment of packages, parcels and transfers, as well as carry out disinfection of the room air and surfaces of parcels (transfers) with open-type bactericidal irradiators.

Depending on the epidemiological situation in the regions, restrictive measures in pre-trial detention centers and correctional colonies are gradually removed. Some Penal Enforcement System institutions already allow not only short-term visits, but also long-term visits.
