The Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia informs:

As on April 28, 2020, 18728 laboratory tests for a new coronavirus infection were carried out in institutions and bodies of the penitentiary system.

The number of laboratory confirmed cases of coronavirus among employees and employees of the department is 271 cases. Among the suspects, accused and convicted, this figure today is 40 cases.

In this situation, the Federal Penitentiary Service organizes all the necessary measures to prevent the spread of the disease.

In a number of Russian regions where the epidemiological situation is the most difficult, special conditions have been introduced in the institutions of the territorial bodies of the FSIN. Prior to a special order, the acceptance of parcels and transfers was suspended, the removal of suspects, accused and convicted of judicial investigative actions was not carried out, the provision of long and short-term personal visits was suspended. It should be noted that despite the introduction of strict restrictive measures, the FSIN of Russia fully respects the rights of detained citizens to protection. A special procedure for visiting institutions has been introduced for lawyers, investigators, and defenders, which provides for communication through glass partitions and the use of personal protective equipment.

In addition, in the territorial bodies where the special conditions regime operates, the reception is carried out by only one pre-trial detention center, which allows minimizing the contacts of new citizens. Their quarantine period has been increased to 21 days. At the same time, persons entering the pre-trial detention centers, by medical service specialists of penitentiary system, conduct an in-depth medical examination, collect an up-to-date epidemiological history, and establish possible facts of being in the focus of infection and contact with infected persons.

In pre-trial detention centers operating under special conditions, employees are transferred to a two-week work schedule without the possibility of going outside the institutions. For duty shifts in institutions organized food and utilities. Employees entering the next shift are on self-isolation. At all checkpoints, medical "filters" are arranged, where examinations of employees of institutions with measurement of body temperature are given. Persons with fever are immediately isolated.

The Federal Penal Service organized round-the-clock monitoring and control of the epidemiological situation. At all objects of the penitentiary system without exception, additional disinfection measures are carried out using modern bactericidal agents and irradiators. At the time of service, personnel are given personal protective equipment - masks for respiratory protection, gloves, and disinfectants. The health units that operate around the clock are provided with the necessary supply of drugs.

Medical workers doubled the number of visits and examinations. At the first appearance of a respiratory disease in suspects, accused and convicted persons, laboratory tests for coronavirus are mandatory.

In each case of the disease, a set of measures is organized to isolate the patient and take under observation the persons who have contact with him.
